The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) works to ensure animals are treated in a kind and respectful manner devoid of all forms of cruelty. Among ASPCA’s initiatives is a grooming pilot program that was launched in 2022. The program celebrated a major milestone in 2023 after an eight-year-old Scottish Terrier became the 1,000th pet to be groomed by ASPCA since beginning of the program. According to Paisley Manga, an ASPCA grooming specialist, the pet has a strong personality despite its small size.

Allen W., the pet owner, received a bag of gifts to celebrate the key animal care milestone. Among the gifts were toys, a clipper set, dog treats, and water bowls. Allen was also given a framed certificate to commemorate the important occasion. ASPCA organizes mobile grooming events, which are held in under-resourced communities where pet services are unaffordable or inaccessible.
